Art Journaling 101: Spotlight on Roben-Marie (Updated)

This is our third edition of our study of the artists interviewed in the Art Journal Caravan 2011 Navigation Guide.  We hope you are enjoying this series this month. Today we look closer at Roben-Marie. (UPDATED with one more layout by Heather aka sparklyduck75!)

Introducing You to Roben-Marie in the 2011 Navigation Guide!

You will find her interview on Pages 34-39 of the Navigation Guide, exclusive to the Art Journal Caravan 2011 Expedition. Roben-Marie comments “…when I want to try new tools or techniques, I bring out my journals and use them for experimentation.”  She suggests to never compare your art journal pages to others because “As a person we grow and change and so will your art journals.” Be sure to read more of her tips in her interview.

’ve asked the Studio Tangie Creative team to check out Roben-Marie’s Finally Resolved Art Journal page (click on link to see) and create a page with just shapes, doodles, and journaling.

Thank you Roben-Marie for your inspiration!

As I fall more and more in love with digital art, I get further and further from my own hands somehow. I hadn’t drawn anything in years till Tangie gave the Art Journal Caravan the Zentangle/Mandala Adventure Quest in September. Suddenly since then, I’m doodling every chance I get. All the doodles on this page are scanned from my handmade journal from Tangie’s Etsy shop. It’s so satisfying to get in touch with that part of myself again!

Social Media TeamI started off combining several of Tangie’s papers. I added the circles and hearts next, the paint, and the text last. This was a lot of fun to do a lot of digital painting with Tangie’s splattergraffiti kits. I didn’t even feel the need to add my trademark borders on every edge!
