Highlights of week 1
It has finally arrived, the 2012 Art Journal Caravan and the gallery is jammed packed full of incredibly amazing pages. I have no idea how I’ve managed to pick just a handful to show you, it was no easy task.
My first choice was breathe. {mixed media} by SarahBarberDesign I like the colors on this page, the beautiful hand drawn girl and the assortment of fun lettering.
Next up is Ssshhh… by lmgdonahue This is such a great page. It just popped out at me in the gallery from the moment I first saw it. I love the “closet” with the secrets written on it and the girl peeking up over the top. And of course, my favorite color, purple : )
Quest #1 – Mind Map by nettasaura blew me away! I mean really, just look at all those gears. I love how they’re positioned to take on the shape of a brain and even more, I love the little detail of the steam being released from it.
When I first saw this page, I KNEW it was going to be one of my choices: Determination by paisley. I love how the colors pop off the dark background. And did you spot her symbol, Dieter the rhino?
Balance by smwhite is such a fun page. I like the glittery brain and the conversion chart at the bottom.
And last, but by no means least, 2012 my one word by zita B. I love the simplicity of this page and the powerful message it relays.
Thanks for joining me for another week of highlights. Don’t forget to check in next Sunday for more great inspiration. Until then… I’ll see ya on the trail.

I’m wondering if I could buy a print from you of the “breathe” one? You do excellent work! I’m glad to have found you! My word is also breathe…I have it tattooed on my wrist: just breathe. Again, love your work!
