  • {Lori Kay} lives and works in western Pennsylvania with her husband, who is also an artist. They share a belief that in order to see what is really there, you need to be fully present in that moment. Art is part and parcel of their lives, and their work reflects this integration. LK is a firm believer that by working with what we know and using accessible art materials- a digital camera, a printer, and basic art supplies- we can create wonderful, meaningful artwork. With studio spaces that are in the middle of her family’s life (the entry way of their home and an island in the kitchen of their river cottage), with small children, an artist-husband, and a puppy underfoot, LK works each day, inspired by what she sees through her camera lens and with her heart. LK … loves traveling throughout the U.S. teaching classes on art journaling, bookbinding, artist books, and doll-making.”

    Be Inspired:

Create a page inspired by a photograph. (Feel free to get as creative as you want, we are not looking for it to be a scraplift.)

Bonus: (optional) Relate it to the theme of the month (i.e. My Vision for 2012 – March: Creativity).Upload the page to your blog, photobucket.com, or favorite gallery and link it to this blog post so we can give you lots of praise!

This was a fun page to make to alter a photo with stamps. The word art appeals to me with the theme of creativity.

    • Katherine says:

I’m a huge fan of LK’s and picked up so many techniques that I use over and over again … using my own photos and altering them in many different ways, printing on tissue paper, scraped painted backgrounds , Stabilo Woody 3-in-1′s, Lyra Skin Tone pencils, etc. etc. She’s gone a bit underground in the last year and I always wonder if she’s OK.

      Great stuff and wonderful layouts!
